Dance Of The Silence - Story Pt. 1

"Whoo, what's our Dumbie got here?"

Belle jumped. She hadn't noticed Dianna and her gang entering the class. They called themselves The Poppies, the name Poppies coming from the word 'popular'. Meaning, The Popular Ones. Ugh! Belle thought. Popular, indeed. What with all their bullying and cheap publicity, they called themselves The Poppies? Haha, suit them well. What a stupid name!

For the fourth time in the week, Dianna deliberately spilled her orange juice on Belle's papers. "Omigod, Dumbie. I did it again..oops." This was followed by laughter from the rest of the gang. Belle, who was clearly horrified, couldn't bring herself to speak. The room was then momentarily silent. No other students were around. It's already the end of the school period.

"What do you think you were doing, you complete MORON?!"
Belle couldn't contain her anger. She had been very patient with them ever since they waged the war against her starting early this week, all because she refused to join their group. Her refusal was like a hard slap in the face for Dianna, the group leader.

"I'm ruining your work, Dumbass. That's what you got for defying The Poppies. Right, guys?" Dianna's followers all answered in unison, a loud and unconvincing chorus of 'Yeah.' "What are you going to do, squeal on us, coward?" Dianna smiled smugly. Just now she was quite taken aback by Belle's outburst. However, she managed to regain composure. She couldn't allow herself to lose face in front of her peers, could she?

Belle was glaring at each and every member of The Poppies, all of whom were standing in front of her. Some looked nervous, some as smug and gangly as Dianna. She realized that not all are willing to join the group, some were probably forced into it, just like what they are doing to her now. She decided it was time for a payback.

She made a pathetic face, looking down on the floor as though she was really sorry. Dianna, who was fearing another outburst from the girl, began to relax when she saw the defeated expression. She leaned on the table with both hands, nearing her face to Belle's. "How you feelin', Dumbie? Ready to join? Signing up ensures lots of privilege, you know...just ask them." Dianna cocked her head to the group behind her. Belle appeared to be thinking, looking anywhere but Dianna's face. Suddenly...

  "BACK OFF, A**HOLE!!!"

Dianna fell backwards, and would have landed on the floor if not for her friends who quickly caught her body. Her face was pale and her body shook a little. "Ha ha ha!" Belle laughed, the loudest that she can. "HA HA HA!!" The room rang and echoed with her laughter. Pounding on the table, she sat on her chair and continued her act for a few more seconds. It wasn't that hard, considering how funny Dianna had looked, thrown backwards like that.

As sudden as anything, Belle sprang up from her chair and abruptly stopped laughing. The Poppies all backed an inch, including Dianna, who was still leaning against and supported by some of the girls. Putting on a malicious expression, Belle spoke with an eeriely hoarse voice. "I was hoping that you mess with me today, Dianna . . ."
